Calendar

Months six to nine

Change trimester

  • 1 - 12 weeks
  • 13 - 26 weeks
  • 30 - 31 weeks
Week 27 - 29

Avoid situations where you might be tempted to smoke again and stick to non-smoking areas. Remember that your baby will benefit from steering clear of secondhand smoke too.

  • Week 27 - 29

The babys heartbeat can now be heard through a stethoscope.

  • Week 30 - 31

The baby is growing plumper, so the skin which was quite wrinkled before, is now smoother. Both the vernix and languo begin to disappear.

  • Week 32

The baby is now preparing for birth. He or she will often turn downwards ready for the birth at around this time.

  • Week 37 - 40

The baby has begun to practice breathing. By week 40 the baby is ready to be born. However, it is not unusual for pregnancies to continue for up to 42 or 43 weeks.
