Regional activity
The Department of Health's policy on tobacco control is carried out through a national and regional team. The nine government regions each have a Regional Tobacco Policy Manager (RTPM). They provide regional leadership on tobacco control and deliver the goals of the national tobacco control programme.
This regional activity involves key partners, including networks of tobacco leads in primary care trusts, local authorities, tobacco alliances, public sector and voluntary groups and individuals.
Their main work includes improving policy and legislation, encouraging smokers to quit and making sure people have the support they need to stop smoking for good.
If you have any questions regarding the Smokefree activity taking place within your area please use the 'ask a question' facility below or contact your region directly.
