Midwives

Stopping smoking during pregnancy is the single most important step a mother can take to benefit her health and her baby’s health.

Pregnant smokers need support, and as a midwife, you can make all the difference. By advising pregnant women who smokes that they can get the support they need via their local NHS Stop Smoking Service, the pregnancy helpline or by visiting smokfree.nhs.uk, you can help them quit for themselves and their baby.

Resources and tools to help you provide support are available free of charge from resources.
