This section will help you if you commission or deliver stop smoking services.
Services are available from the NHS to provide counselling and support to smokers wanting to go smokefree. These complement the use of Nicotine Replacement Therapy and other stop smoking medicines. And they're all part of the Department of Health's comprehensive NHS Stop Smoking Service.
Services are provided in group sessions or one to one. This depends on the local circumstances and the client's preferences. Most stop smoking service advisers are from a healthcare professional background and all have received training for their role.
