Smokefree Homes and Cars
On 31 March 2012, The Department of Health launched a new smokefree homes and cars campaign to address the harms caused by secondhand smoke.
To help promote the Smokefree homes and cars messages we have provided a number of support materials for you to use. These have been designed for partners and for local use, and include leaflets, posters, ‘Stick and quit’ stickers, and an email signature.
Posters and leaflets
The posters and leaflets are available in two formats, which are both available online, and encourage smokers to request a Smokefree Kit via the Smokefree website. The national partners campaign versions are available for ordering from the Smokefree Resource Centre. The local versions are available as editable pdfs, allowing local services to add their own contact details to them for any smoker who wishes to access additional support.
We’ve developed these materials to help key local partners who have existing networks within the heart of our target communities promote the smokefree homes and cars messages to smokers. We know many local areas and regions are already promoting the smokefree homes and cars messages, and these materials have been designed to help support these local initiatives.

Email signature
An email signature is also available which can be easily added to the bottom of your emails, showing your support for the campaign while providing an opportunity for you to spread the campaign messages to your contacts. The signature links to the Smokefree website, enabling your email recipients to find out more about the campaign.

Stickers
To help promote the campaign messages with smokers as well as partners, local services are also able to order ‘Stick and Quit’ stickers, which they can stick wherever they might be tempted to light up to help them keep their home and car smokefree.
