| Day 25 and I've been very tearful! I only now realise after reading blurb on the health websites; that I've tried giving up my lozenges too soon. So I'm back on my sugar free lozenges and will soldier on.
I haven't even felt that I want a cigarette since I've quit but I do feel like I need a replacement high without the lozenges at least.
I've been going to the gym and spending "old smoking money" on a personal trainer once a week.
How does everyone else cope with anxiety from the withdrawal? |

| Well its day 5 for me and Im using patches to help cope with the cravings. Feeling good apart from the awful headaches but after smoking over 20 a day for the last 10 years thats a small price to pay :-)
That empty feeling does come and go but Im keeping busy and the house has never looked so clean!
The messages really help on here and I read them most days - makes me feel like Im not doing this alone. We can beat it! Well done everyone :) |

| Decided to quit smoking 2 weeks ago due to the loss of my job at the end of May . Haven't had a cigarette since quitting , but still getting cravings every now and then . I'm on the patches and they work really well . A good tip I use to combat the urge , is to chew Wrigley's Extra peppermint gum . Stick it on your tongue for a few seconds then chew . |

| Into week three of giving up. I'm on patches, but I have felt very down and depressed the last few days. I want to have a cigarette but know that it won't solve anything or make me feel better or taste very nice. It's like loosing an old friend but finding out they weren't what you thought they were. I'm sorry to say I have resorted to comfort eating today - hoping tomorrow will be better! |

| I'm 56 and was doing 30 a day, on 8 Apr at 9pm at night, I decided to stop, tried before but not lasted more than 12 hours, decided this time not to make a song and dance over it but take it half an hour at a time, I am very proud to say that I have not smoked at all since then, I ever thought for a minute I would manage it this long and although the cravings are still there I will not turn back to the fags, I have much more time to myself by not stopping what I'm doing to smoke and I like not smelling of fags, my wife still smokes and the way it smells is disgusting, I can't believe I smelt the same but never realised it, I have saved £180 into the bargain, what a life changer. |
